CORVID-19 is still here and you are asked to be safe whilst out in the North West of Scotland. Current restrictions have been relaxed recently. Even so, please do not go out in the area if you are showing signs of Corvid-19. When out paddling or hillwalking make sure you give people space - 1m at least and preferable 2m. Remember that if it feels too crowded then you can walk away and try somewhere else; the environment will still be there tomorrow. Also remember the emergency services, the RNLI and the MRT. They will come out to rescue you but they should not have to put themselves into danger from this virus.

Take Care Out There.

Park at the forest just short of Ribigill.

The start of this walk is along a track and it may be a good idea to take a bike as far as you can, then walk along the path to Cunside. From here the route makes for Sgurr Chaonasaid, going round the steep ground to the east and then making height up to the main Ben Loyal ridge. Once there follow the pleasant ridge south to get to the main summitat An Caisteal. (6kms. 745m. 3hrs. 20min.)

Return by the saem route. Walking along the ridge at first will give great views over the Pentland Firth with the possibility of views over to Orkney. A great place to be and away from it all. Once at Sgurr Chaonasaid, go around to the east and then back to Churnside, pick up the bike and speed back to the road at Ribigill. (6kms. 0m. 1hrs. 50min.)
