CORVID-19 is still here and you are asked to be safe whilst out in the North West of Scotland. Current restrictions have been relaxed recently. Even so, please do not go out in the area if you are showing signs of Corvid-19. When out paddling or hillwalking make sure you give people space - 1m at least and preferable 2m. Remember that if it feels too crowded then you can walk away and try somewhere else; the environment will still be there tomorrow. Also remember the emergency services, the RNLI and the MRT. They will come out to rescue you but they should not have to put themselves into danger from this virus.
Take Care Out There.

Ben More Assynt and Conival are usually climbed as a pair, as the natural starting point of Inchnadamph hotel passes Conival on the way to the higher Ben More Assynt. These two hills have "snow" capped tops with the grey rock shining as snow in the sunlight on a bright summer day. The route in passes the significant Inchnadamph bone caves worth a visit on the way up.
A large car park beside the Inchnadamph Hotel just of the side of the A837.
Start of from the car park and follow the farm track towards the bone caves. Soon the track reverts to a path and then later is more indestinct. The route follows on the north side of the river valley. At the rocks, on the opposite bank, the route climbs steeply up the Allt a Choinne Mhill. When the steepness relents towards the top start to turn right to get to the bealach below Conival. Now the slopes change from grassy to grey rock, giving the hill the distinctive colour. Climb these slopes to reach the summit of Conival. (6.5kms. 890m. 3hrs. 40min.)
Ben More Assynt is the larger of the two hills but not far away. Go east down the slopes of Conival and then ascend to the top of Ben More Assynt. (1.5kms. 120m. 0hrs. 50min.)
Returning by the uphill route is the only logical way. First walk west back along the ridge to Conival then descend, carefully, the rocks making the summit cap of this hill to reach the bealach. from here, on grassy slopes, descent by the stream and then by the path and track to the Inchnadamph hotel. (8kms. 00m. 2hrs. 20min.)
